“A terrible Experiences with our ID Tracy Kam Si Jia”
I feel compelled to share my disappointing experience with interior designer (ID) Tracy Kam Si Jia and her company Miracle Design Studio, in the hopes of alerting others to the challenges I encountered. Regrettably, my engagement with this ID revealed a lack of professionalism, poor communication, and limited understanding of the field. Upon engaging this ID several months ago, it became evident she lacked formal interior design education. Additionally, her English proficiency was inadequate, despite her claims of expertise and a satisfied customer base. Her impatience and tendency to prematurely terminate projects after the agreed-upon contract were particularly disconcerting. Compounding the issue, one month before house key collection, the ID abruptly discontinued the project before the actual 3D drawing was completed. Her company management confirmed the suspension of the contract, citing “customer unreasonable requests” without providing any alternative solutions. To my surprise, she and her company sought to charge me for previously rendered services and transportation costs, despite initially offering transportation voluntarily. Her company management even stated, after consulting their lawyer, that they needed to refund my deposit but still wanted to charge me service fees. Their justification was based on unfounded claims of customer unreasonableness and fabricated reasons to terminate the contract. However, after consulting with numerous industry professionals, it became clear that my requests were entirely reasonable and aligned with industry norms. Services such as layout discussions, quotations, and renovation timeframes are typically provided by reputable interior designers at the initial stages of a project, prior to the creation of final 3D drawings. It is unjustifiable for the ID and her company to demand SGD1000 with GST and transportation compensation when they were responsible for terminating the project and breaching the contract. This conduct poses a significant risk to consumer interests. Due to their lack of commitment and irresponsible contract termination, I had to spend valuable time searching for other interior designers and investing considerable effort to engage a good ID on short notice. After submitting my case to state court, the opposite party refunded my full deposit without any apologies or compensation for breaching the contract. In light of my unfortunate experience, I strongly advise exercising caution and recommend refraining from entering into any agreements with this company or engaging the services of the ID associated with it. It is crucial to prioritize consumer protection and consider alternative options when seeking professional and reliable interior design services. Overall, my experience with this ID and her company has been deeply unsatisfactory, highlighting their lack of professionalism, poor communication, and inadequate understanding of the interior design field. I hope that by sharing my experience, others can make informed decisions and avoid similar challenges.
