The Scientist

It was my first time renovating our home and of course we had to search for good IDs. We came across The Scientist and when we got to meet them and tell them our ideas, which was all over the place, they knew what we wanted when we described to them. You are in good hands if you have them as your ID, you do not have to worry about anything. The end result was superb. I get so many good comments from my friends and relatives when they come to visit our new home. Of course as a homeowner, I feel that this is money worth spend. I'm so glad that I have chosen them as my ID. Good design planning with beautiful detailing. I have come to read of some reviews here saying that they do not respond and follow up, I have to say something. They are the most dedicated IDs, at least to me, to very satisfied client.

We were introduced to The Scientist, and were impressed by their portfolio, as it showed that their style is quite flexible and it really showcased the personalities of the homeowners. We did not want a cookie-cutter design for our 5-room BTO. We went down to meet with Alvin and Krays, and showed them our house layout as well as a powerpoint with the different styles that we liked. Both of us liked very different things - eclectic unique designs VS danish-scandi, bright, airy feel. Alvin and Krays understood what we wanted really fast, which was different from the other IDs that we had been to. (The other IDs were more focused on the company's strength - e.g. clean lines, scandi, industrial etc etc - and could not really merge our ideas together). The Scientist could understand what type of style each of us like, despite us not even knowing exactly what type of design we like. They were able to describe what appealed to us, and put everything into words (which was amazing, because when we used pinterest to pin the photos we like, it's by feel and the vibe the photos gave us!). They were very meticulous, and showed us that each client has a THICK folder of their own - which would include the details of the renovation process. Their pricing was reasonable as well, because we actually went to break down the quotations given to us down to the unit. They do not provide 3D drawing, but we had faith in them on understanding what we like and executing it properly. They were very meticulous throughout the whole process. All the small details were taken care of - e.g. when the door handles were installed, it was silver (which we thought was ok right); but Krays called us immediately during his routine inspection of the reno, and told us they installed the wrong handle, when it should be gold (because it fits our theme better). Their work was topnotch. Carpentry and tiling was done very nicely. There was really no bad incidents at all. Everything went according to plan. It was a really pleasant experience, and I would totally recommend The Scientist if you're looking to renovate your place!

We were impressed by The Scientist's portfolio but ended up left sorely disappointed. The workmanship is poor and we experienced poor customer service. It was an unpleasant experience, and I would NOT recommend The Scientist!

Saw The Scientist's designs and i thought they were different from other ID we saw, and in fact, they were REALLY different. I dropped email to them to book an appointment so that we can further discuss my concept of what i want my home to be. Few days later, an ID, Cynthia rang me up to arrange for appointment and even dropped me a text to confirm the meetup, i gladly accepted. A day before the appointment date, Cynthia has to reschedule the appointment to another day because she has a site meeting. I can't make it too, so i proposed her another day. Days after days, no response at all. Such a waste of time to actually prioritize time for the appointment but was given such a horrible service. If this is the type of service provided even before i can even meet the ID, i don't think anyone should even consider them at all. Horrible follow up, or rather, no follow up at all and leave you there hanging.
