It was such a pleasure to work with Charles. He helped us tremendously- in keeping to our budgets, and going above and beyond to ensure our vision for our home was executed with little to no hiccups and with perfection. 1. He’s responsive and communicates well- he gave updates almost daily or weekly (depending on the phase of Reno), and was present for all the milestones - hacking, carpentry, tiling, plumbing etc. He will give you thorough updates on what’s happening, what are the problem areas , so we didn’t feel like we needed to constantly take leave and be present since we could trust him to oversee it. 2. ⁠He goes above and beyond- we had several issues stemming from buying a rather old apartment, and he worked with MCST to get that fixed- he made sure to be there every time they came down to inspect our flat to highlight the remaining problem areas. This we really appreciated, since it wasn’t really his scope, but we felt that he also cared about our unit and wanted it to turn out well- this also included many other things, like negotiating with the carpenter to build a <a href='/photos/feature/tv-console' target='_blank'>TV console</a> for the same budget we had to buy one- it’s a bit hard to put in words, but we could tell his heart was in it with us to get a home we love. 3. ⁠He helps you keep to the budget- this was incredibly important since it’s almost given that most projects will exceed the initial quote- as the works starts, sometimes we uncovered unforeseen costs e.g old pipes, false ceiling that needs fixing etc, so we appreciated him working together with us to see where we could trim and save costs. 4. ⁠Post sales handling is great- even now he checks in and follows up on items that needs fixing. A couple more points I could make, but it all follows the theme of him going above and beyond in terms of communication, fixing stuff (because issues will definitely crop up) and working together with us to perfect our home. Charles is truly a gem in this industry, and highly recommend him to anything wanting a reliable, dedicated and perfect home.

The workmanship of the final result was excellent, and you can see how meticulous he is in making sure everything is done to a high standard. He also handled all the coordination with the sub-contractors like a pro. Everything was well-planned, timelines were smooth, and the quality control was top-notch. On top of all that, he’s super responsive, patient, and never once made us feel like we were a bother with all our questions. All in all, Charles made the whole renovation journey much less stressful and way more enjoyable than we expected. We renovated our kitchen in mid 2019 and also added a wet kitchen outside. As first-time homeowners with no prior renovation experience, finding the right ID can be super daunting especially with all the horror ID stories floating around and The last thing you want is to have an unpleasant renovation experience for your first house. We first spoke to Sandy in June (the 2nd ID we spoke to!) and we were really impressed with her presentation. She was meticulous and detailed. During the presentation, she focused a lot on space planning (going down to the specific measurement/ what to look out for during furniture shopping/ what is feasible/ what is not worth doing just for aesthetic). It really left a deep impression as compared to the other ID firms we spoke to. For reference, we spoke to a total of 9 IDs. We were initially skeptical as we can’t really find reviews online. However, we decided to trust our instinct and go with Sandy! And for that.. Its was the BEST decision we made! We were able to trust the entire renovation process in Sandy’s good hands! She would give prompt updates on the renovation milestones. She was super responsive throughout the entire process as well. She is always patient in answering all our enquiries! Not keeding, she always reply us within minutes! We are really pleased with the overall result and workmanship (ie. Tiling/ Painter/ Carpentry/ Electrical/ Plumber). During the handover, we only had a couple minor rectification (that speaks a lot)! All they need was patience and understanding from new homeowners so they can produce excellent results. Good experience with De Style Interior and its designer Charles. No hard sell nor blindly imposing of design concepts and a clear process for itemised quotation/ revisions that made it restful for me. Also glad that De Style Interior and designer Charles have maintained their trusted service partners to jointly deliver practical solutions and value. Charles/ De Style’s the first team i met among companies during a designers event. Deeply impressed by Charles’ professional explanation of floor layout measurements simply by starting from main entrance door for subsequent estimation of other parts of my condo unit. The explanation gave me a very quick understanding of whats doable and what’s not (limitations eg. I cant keep certain sentimental furnishings) even before 2D phase. With these, I gained very quick understanding the type of design recommendations to avoid and technologies to leverage on. As opposed to others whom I met, who either gave quite standard concepts (not really thinking out of the box) or methods (eg. False ceilings), Charles patiently listened to my ideal theme (minimal but modern luxe), atmosphere and space preservation I tried to achieve. He caught and consolidated my ideals very well and beyond what i visioned. He created and 2Ds that touched me greatly as it lent a good foundation for subsequent tweaks to refine design yet not compromise functionality. As I know what I don’t want… thus admittedly, I’m extremely detailed and quite ‘demanding’ for new possibilities to enhance while also to preserve the base design (which I loved very much). Charles has been very open mindedness and did not display designer-ego dismissing my concerns. He reflected and constantly draws inspiration from surroundings and propose non-conventional interior designs. As mentioned earlier, my unit size is not big. Hence when I eventually decided to invest in working on only my living room to give myself time for thinking bedroom spaces… I’m glad De Style Interior/ Charles pressed on and took up the constructive challenge to knock down false beams, even to the extent of relocating aircon unit to refine my ceiling corner structures… put up sliding door for my master bedroom and thoroughly transformed my unit’s look.
