Starry Homestead

Before my wife and I purchased our 4-room resale flat in March 2026, we met with more than 20 interior design firms in Singapore. The entire process was mentally exhausting. Some firms quoted unreasonably high prices, some didn't fully understand our requirements, and others omitted certain items from their quotations (which I thought they did it intentionally, so that they can claim VOs after signing contract). After nearly three months of researching and comparing quotations, we decided to engage Starry Homestead because their pricing was transparent and much more competitive. Our interior designer, Steven, demonstrated exceptional professionalism, patience, and expertise throughout the entire renovation journey. During our discussions, he carefully listened to our ideas and consistently suggested practical alternatives that could help us achieve the look we wanted while staying within budget. One example was our original plan to make a fully enclosed study room with glass walls and glass doors. After several rounds of discussion, Steven recommended an open-concept study instead. We loved the idea, and it ended up saving us close to S$8,000 without compromising functionality or aesthetics (actually it looks more spacious with the open-concept study). The renovation was completed on time—and even ahead of schedule. Despite our unusual request (shipping tiles and other renovation materials from overseas), as well as the occasional changes we made along the way, Steven was always accommodating and solution-oriented. My wife and I are also very sensitive to odours and were particularly concerned about formaldehyde (HCHO) levels in the home. Steven made sure every contractor used the low-formaldehyde materials we had specially sourced from overseas and reminded them throughout the renovation process. His attention to detail and commitment to our requirements gave us great peace of mind. It has now been almost two months since we moved in, and we can hardly find any defects in the workmanship. We are extremely satisfied with both the renovation process and the final result. We would gladly recommend Steven and Starry Homestead to anyone looking for a reliable, professional, and customer-focused interior designer. I had an extremely positive experience working with Si Ming from Starry Homestead for my home renovation. Si Ming is meticulous, has a keen eye for detail, and can remember my needs and preferences very well. He consistently incorporates them into his design proposals. What impressed me most was his ability to balance my design preferences and fengshui master's requirements with aesthetics and practicality. His creativity in finding solutions, together with the original bedroom design he proposed for my son which won my son (and hence me) over, were key reasons I chose Starry Homestead. Si Ming made the renovation journey much less overwhelming for a layperson by breaking the process down into smaller, manageable steps. He patiently explained the options, from tiles to lighting and other design elements. I appreciated his guidance in helping me make informed decisions without feeling rushed. I also learnt a lot about design from him throughout the journey. Despite me making several quirky requests, what truly stood out was how professionally and open-mindedly Si Ming handled them. He believes there is a reason behind every request and always explores solutions and strives to find a "yes". Even when I changed my mind or found new ideas gathered from the internet subsequently, he remained patient and accommodating wherever possible. Si Ming is incredibly dedicated to his projects, responding to messages after working hours and even when he became a new dad. He takes pride in his projects and is always ready with helpful opinions on matching furniture and furnishings. The workmanship by Starry Homestead was excellent, with little cause for complaint given Si Ming's careful quality checks every step along the way. More importantly, Si Ming remained responsive and helpful even after handover, promptly attending to issues identified. This level of commitment beyond handover speaks volumes about his dedication to his clients and his genuine desire to help them achieve their dream home. Having heard many renovation horror stories, I had braced myself for challenges but was pleasantly surprised by how smooth and positive the entire experience was. Although Starry Homestead's quotation was not the most cost-competitive, the quality of workmanship, service and personal attention made up for the difference. My heartfelt thanks to Si Ming for his dedication, patience and thoughtfulness in turning my ideas into a cosy dream home that I can enjoy for many years to come. We had a great experience working with Jovina from Starry Homestead. She was prompt, responsive, and always quick to reply to our queries. More importantly, Jovina was a good listener who took the time to understand our needs and preferences. Whenever issues arose, she was quick to address and rectify them. We also really love the overall home design—simple, elegant, and thoughtfully done. Renovation took about 3 months but the whole process smooth. Post Reno rectification of issues were also quick. He provided ideas on how to best plan the space but also took our opinions into account.
