This has been a extremely negative experience.

After collecting 60% upfront payments, there was little to no actual progress for >6 weeks! Due to extended delays, I had to move in WITHOUT kitchen cabinets as qin ming was approaching.

Delays were so bad I had to engage another carpenter, to do my bomb shelter cabinet and bedroom wardrobe so as not to hold up the rest of my renovation process. But.. Good luck trying to get any deposit back from V&B if you wish to reduce or amend the job scope.

These 2 carpentry jobs were completed in less than 1 week (in spite of CNY which also affected the emergency carpenter/Everybody), this shows you how V&B really took their time.

Communication consisted mainly of repeated verbal assurances with no delivery. Deadlines were not met. Apologies were given aplenty but they proved to be insincere, as Mr Manyan was more focused on making excuses than addressing the issues/delays with action instead of words.

I was also asked to make additional advance payment for the sintered top(to "lock in" the discount and expedite?! Why didn't you "lock in" when I paid the 60% deposit?! Cashflow is bad I guess), despite the lack of progress and existing payments already made. This is totally unacceptable, and a clear breach of their own progress payment schedule!

When V&B finally came to install the kitchen cabinet, it was left incomplete and unusable—no kitchen top, no plumbing, no sink or mixer waiting to be installed. I still could not cook or even wash in my own home.

And there were clear execution failures. There was no space catered for a chimney hood despite measurements being provided, and it does not match the agreed drawings. This points to poor workmanship and a lack of basic coordination, and clearly he did not give his carpenter the measurements.

Cos the carpenter had several questions and fortunately I was home to answer and supervise, since Mr Manyan was not present!

Subsequently when I asked Mr Manyan, I was told the kitchen top measurement needed "7 days" to arrange after cabinets are done..

Why wasn't the appointment made a week earlier then? Shows a complete lack of initiative and planning.

In the end I had to engage other contractors to rectify and complete the job. And the other contractors could complete all the outstanding jobs within 8 days.

V&B clearly demonstrated poor execution, lack of accountability, and severe UNPROFESSIONAL-ism!

You can expect:

I almost filed a small claims at SCT against his company. ACRA bizfile screenshot attached as proof of how serious I was.

FYI the company is NOT registered to him, but a lady. The registered address is NOT the one in the invoice(Woodlands), but a HDB address elsewhere.

All these are classic RED FLAGS.
